Obituary

Nicholas James Cullen passed away suddenly in his Norfolk, Massachusetts home on Sunday, July 15, 2018. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on March 8, 1990, he was the son of Lisa Marie Cullen and Michael Edward Tierney. Nick was raised in Wrentham, Massachusetts and attended King Philip Regional High School.

At a young age, Nick began his working career in the automotive repair industry, taking a position with R & D Automotive located in Norfolk and eventually with Mike's Auto Body and Restoration in Foxborough. He later went on to working at one of his favorite restaurants, the Red Wing Diner. Ultimately Nick found his career and passion working as a stone mason for the last seven years with J.D. Masonry, where he enjoyed the company of his coworkers and took pride in his everyday work.

Throughout his life, Nicholas was fond of being outside and most enjoyed fishing with his dad and brother at New Pond in Walpole, biking, snowboarding, and walking through the woods with his recently passed Pitbull named Jax. In most recent years, he also thoroughly enjoyed playing with his niece Kallie and visiting his niece/goddaughter Violet. Nick had a love for Boston Sports and old rusty Volkswagen vans, a model of which he displayed on his own dashboard.

Movies and all kinds of music were a huge influence in Nick's life. He enjoyed the old gangster movies and often found memorabilia from such movies and personas to hang on the walls of his new home, alongside all of his Bruins gear. When it came to music, Nick loved attending the concerts of his favorite bands including Pink Floyd, Tom Petty, Lynryd Skynyrd, and his favorite by far, The Grateful Dead. Typically, he could be found in a Grateful Dead t-shirt, his neon orange work shirt, or camouflage attire.

Most important of all to Nick was his family. He was a devoted son to Lisa Marie Cullen of Wrentham and Michael Edward Tierney of Walpole. Nick was the loving brother of Michael Cullen of Wrentham, the late Kimberly Cullen, Taylor Cullen of Wrentham, and Lyndsey Cullen of North Attleboro. He was also the cherished uncle of Kallie Mae "Fricklefrack" Cullen and treasured uncle/godfather to Violet Kimberly Cullen. He was the loved grandson of James Clerici of Walpole and the late Evelyn Clerici as well as the late Francis and Shirley Cullen. Nick is also survived by numerous members of his extended family.

Nicholas was known to be a genuine and affectionate gentleman to everyone who was lucky enough to have crossed his path. He truly loved with all his heart and would have taken the shirt off his own back for anyone in need.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Nick's Life Celebration on Friday, July 27th from 5-9 PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. Funeral service and interment will be private at the request of Nick's family. In lieu of flowers, Nick's family asks that a donation be made to help offset the cost of the services.
