George M. Wise, Jr., age 83, passed away in his Sharon, Massachusetts home on Thursday, June 1, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Franklin, Massachusetts on October 16, 1933, he was the son of the late George M. and Ebba L.W. (Anderson) Wise. He was raised in East Walpole, Massachusetts and graduated from Walpole High School. After graduation, George proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1956, after earning the rank of Specialist Third Class. Upon his return home to Walpole, he continued working as a mechanic at Bird and Son in East Walpole in addition to taking courses at the Wentworth Institute of Technology.

George proposed to Carol A. Lundrigan on December 25, 1957 and the young couple was married less than a year later, on November 29, 1958. They made their home in Sharon, Massachusetts, where they welcomed two daughters, Debra Ann and Pamela Jo. He continued working at Bird and Son until they closed and George took the maintenance mechanic position at Factory Mutual in Norwood.

He enjoyed all things mechanical and could be found working on various cars and using his tractor, bulldozer, or backhoe to work around his yard. At the end of the day, George always looked forward to the wonderful meal his wife, Carol, had prepared for him.
